For the first ever season in the Premier League for the Tigers, the Senior Tigers had a really successful season with well attended meetings and membership up to almost our limit.

We began in September with JOHN KAYE as our guest, followed by LlNTON BROWN in October. November saw SHAUN RUSH telling us all about the work of the Conditioner, with the usual Christmas Lunch in December when PAUL DUFFEN, PHIL BROWN and BRIAN HORTON were our guests. In January, NICK BARMBY was our first guest from the current playing squad. February brouqht the visit of BOB SHAW, who as Chief Scout, told us about the search for new players. In March, one of the “Great Escape” team, JUSTIN WHITTLE, gave us an insight into his career, before a packed Sports Bar in April had an excellent afternoon with PHIL BROWN. The season ended with the usual end of season lunch.

This season we were unable to afford kit sponsorship due to the high cost, but we did sponsorship of the Juniors trip to Holland at Easter. The Senior Tigers could not function without the help of the Chairman, PAUL DUFFEN, the Events Team for organising the meetings and lunches, in particular KATH WILLlAMS and KATIE WEST. Our thanks also go to STEVE JORDAN for his PA announcements and MATT CARRINGTON for our regular programme notes. In addition, the help of our own BILL SHIRLEY with the PA system is invaluable.

The Senior Tigers could not be as strong as we are today without the continued support of the members, many of you have been with us since our formation almost 10 years ago.

Finally, I must thank the members of the Committee for their ever willing help. I hope you will all enjoy our meetings this season.

GORDON TOWSE (Chairman) August 2009
