We had our first outing of the year, and kept it local. Our coach driver dropped us off outside the York walls, and we had a short walk to Kings Square, to visit the York Chocolate Story.

We divided into 2 groups, and the visit was very visual and informative, culminating in us all making a chocolate lolly!

We discovered the origin of the products, and how York became the UK’s home of chocolate – and stories behind the creators of the best selling brands that we know and love, that were invented in the City.

There was time to mooch around the area, including the Shambles and the market, and to get coffees and a bit of shopping! Look for our member in the new cap, and the one with a trendy Hull City coloured skirt!

We then got back on the coach to travel to the Percy Arms in Airmyn. Here we were met by Mike and his friendly staff, and had a lovely lunch meal in the conservatory.

Again the sun shone for us, and although it was cool, it was a very pleasant day.
