Heidi started going with us to Boothferry Park in 1992 together with her friend Mel.

We would go shopping before having lunch at the Gainsborough – always fish and chips.

We headed for the ground around 1 pm so that both girls could wait outside the gates to meet the players, talk to them and take photos.

This continued until November 1997 when Heidi died in a road traffic accident aged 19. It was then that we found her book of poems. They were on all sorts of subjects and expressed the thoughts of a teenage girl.

Here is Heidi’s poem dedicated to Hull City A.F.C.
