Outing to Keithley & Worth Valley Railway

Gordon & I had a ‘recky’ of the area to make sure that it was suitable, and this is what we have come up with:

We will leave Cottingham at 7.30am and MKM 8.00am, as we will be having to negotiate 

Bradford during rush hour – but you will be in the comfort of the new electric coach!!!

After a recommendation from Eddie Mason, we are visiting Cliffe Castle pavilion tea rooms.

We had coffee and tea cakes , and they were lovely, but the whole area was beautiful, so 

I thought we could spend a little time there.  There are aviaries, victorian gardens and a museum 

– all free!!  Please look it up on the web.

We then need to be at Keithley railway station (Platform 4) at 12 noon, the train comes in at

12.10pm and leaves at 12.30pm under steam!

Originally we were getting off at Haworth, but having seen how steep the climb is into the town,

I have decided we are staying on to the end of the line at Oxenhope, and the coach will take us into Haworth 

from there.  The cost is still £28 each.

Here you will have at least a couple of hours to get lunch, or visit the parsonage etc – the time is yours.

We will set off for home about 4/4.30pm.
