It was the era of Chilton, Wagstaff, Houghton, Butler and Henderson – what a forward line. I was 22 and a season ticket holder and we were having a great cup run, beating Southampton and Nottingham Forest on the way.  We drew Chelsea away and off I went to support the boys.  We went two nil down and all seemed lost, but Wagstaff had other ideas and scored two goals to finish with a draw.  I met a boy from Chelsea in the crowd and we arranged to meet to watch the replay at Boothferry Park,  We got some very funny comments in our opposing colours but it was all very good natured.  In front of over 45,000 supporters, we ended up losing 3 – 1 despite Chris Simpkin scoring an absolute scorcher.  My memory is that we won the Giant Killers Cup but I might be wrong.
