On Thursday, May 1st, we held our end-of-season meal. Over one hundred seventy members sat down to a lovely two-course meal in the Kingston Suite at the MKM Stadium.
As the country will be celebrating VE Day the following week, we decided to have a red, white, and blue theme. The tables were decorated with red, white, and blue balloons and Union Jack flags. Many of our members dressed in the patriotic colours, and some wore Union Jack hats.
Following the meal, we held a general knowledge quiz arranged by our quiz master, Tony Bilton, a member of the walking football group. We then had a sing-along accompanied by Clive Cross on keyboard. Singing songs from the wartime era.
To finish the afternoon, we held our raffle, which raised £569.00.
