Unfortunately, on the day of the lunch, our Chair, Allen, was unwell, so Pat welcomed everyone, including our guests: Anna Mills from KCOM, Tim Smith from Acklams Coaches, and Pete Magee from Jupiter Web Solutions, who are all supporters of the Senior Tigers Club, and Brendon Smurthwaite from the football club.
Our members sat down to a two-course lunch, followed by Tony Sturdy’s Kings O’ Blarney Trio, who entertained us with their lively Irish music. We enjoyed them so much last Christmas that we asked them back again this year.
To finish the afternoon, we held our bumper Christmas raffle, which raised £757.00. Special thanks must go to Acklams Coaches for their generous prize donations and to KCOM, too, for their donation. A thank you must also go to the many businesses that donated prizes.
Before we left for home, Pat reminded everyone that our January members’ meeting will be on Thursday, 8th January, not the first Thursday of the month, as it is New Year’s Day.
Everyone went home happy and looking forward to the festive season.
